So today is my first sim, first time sitting Shuttle console in 2.5 years. Yes, that's 2.5 years. Last time was STS-113 in November 2002. And, no surprise, I SUCK. I'm trying to remember what books, what displays, what procedures, etc. that I need to be dealing with. I'm missing calls (fortunately, they're nothing I can't think and figure out), missing data, forgetting where to look for malfunctions, procedures, reconfigurations. There are failures left and right, people chattering on all loops. Oh, what a mess!!! So hectic. It's quiet for a moment, a brief moment, and then it all starts over again... Only 3 more hours to go!
