Apache had surgery to fix her torn ACL yesterday, and this morning I picked her up. A more pitiful beast there never were. Her rear resembles that of a horse (short hair, long tail), she has a bulky purple bandage and can barely walk, collapsing in the hallway and I had to carry her to the living room, although, she nearly yanked my arm off in her hurry to leave the vet. Also, my car now sports the enticing aroma known as hospital stank, as well as a new blanket of black hair on the backseat. The things that we do in the name of love.Discovery is not launching today. Well, I guess I should say it hasn't launched, because if it were going to, then it would have done so by now. They scrubbed it less than two hours before launch, but it was a valid concern. Hopefully, they'll be able to fix the problem and we can launch in a few days. So close, and yet, so far.
